Easy, One shadow Smokey Eye!

Published January 31, 2015 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

I feel like every time I start a post I murmur about infrequent posting. But yeah, life happens, yano.

Anyways, today I was super pumped because I was going to a vintage warehouse, where they have loads of vintage clothes and furniture and oh… it was so great. I got some sequin pumps FOR £3 Holla holla .

If you have anywhere like that near you, GO AND BECOME ENLIGHTENED. Im actually going to a vintage fair next weekend with my friend klara. What is it about ‘vintage’ things that have gotten me so excited at the moment?

Ok so now for the tutorial:

1) As always, start off fresh faced. Brace yourselves.SAM_7752

2) Next I do my whole face routine (foundation, concealer, powder) and my eyebrows. I didn’t show this because it doesn’t really change.  BTW do you like my mario necklace?SAM_7758

3) Next I apply an eyeprimer to my eyes as a base for my eyeshadow. I then apply a thin layer of translucent powder on top on my eyelids.  I don’t usually do this, but as I’m only using one eyeshadow, I want to be able to really blend it out to make it smokey. The translucent powder just helps the colour blend much more smoothly. SAM_7762

4) Next I apply the copper shade on my eyelid and under my lashline. Then BLEND to your hearts extend. I ran a fluffy crease brush across my eyelid and up above my crease.

You’d be amazed the effect you get with just one colour.SAM_7766

5) Next I apply a shiny pearl eyeliner in my inner corner to brighten up my eyes. SAM_7770

6) Next I apply a brown eyeliner pencil to my top lashline and in my waterline. You could smudge the eyeliner to make it look more smokey. However, If you’re incredibly lazy like me, a leaving it does the trick. SAM_7772

7) Next curl your lashes and mascara them babies up! SAM_7780

8) And by sticking to tradition, I apply some fake lashes and once they’re on, I secure them in place with another coat of mascara. Be proud, these lashes are very unwhorelike for me. SAM_7785

9) Next I contour my face with a matte bronzer to add some dimension to my face.SAM_7789

10) Next I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks and blend backwards.SAM_7793

11) To finish the look I slightly overdraw my lips with brown lipliner, then apply a nude lipstick on top. Ta da!SAM_7804SAM_7812SAM_7806

Frizzy Hair!!! – Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts to smooth hair!

Published October 5, 2014 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

So I’ve struggled with curly, frizzy hair all my life. I have natural curly hair and until recently I always had it straightened, which to wash, blowdry and straighten takes 3 hours! So through trial and error ive found some tricks which have helped me and id like to share.

I was inspired to do this post by the ‘Own your bed head’ campaign by ‘Casper’. Casper is a mattress company, the mattress’ are luxury and made out of latex and memory foam. You can check them out here. > https://casper.com/mattresses

The campaign is all about embracing/helping frizzy hair, because unless you’re one of those godly people blessed with sleek, straight hair, frizz is something  we all have just in different quantities.

Heres my hair today. This is my freshly washed hair when I let it air dry:

SAM_7365

I swear my eyes look slightly dozey here, but oh well. It’s a good representation of myself I guess!

So here are my tips which I find helpful:

.Tying you hair in braids before you sleep, not only gives you beautiful waves the next day with NO EFFORT, but also keeps frizz away as your hair is tied up!
 .
.Hair Argan oils are also a savior. Any hair can benefit from oil and you can keep travel sized bottles with you to smooth fly-aways down throughout the day. Argan oil has literally saved my hair.
 .
.Rinsing your hair with cold water before you get out the shower really helps with frizz aswell, as it seals the cuticle of your hair so it doesn’t frizz.
 .
.If you have dry frizzy hair, use a light conditioner all over you hair when you shower, it weighs your hair down slightly, which is good if you have very damaged hair like me.
 .
.Try not to wash your hair everyday. I find that my curly hair looks bad if I sleep on it, but the next day i’ll wear my hair in a bun. If you have a problem with greasy hair, use dry shampoo to battle through the second day. Washing every other day is much better than everyday, trust me.
 .
.This is an obvious one, but try not to use much heat or dye your hair much (can you sense the hypocrisy?). Only in the last 2 months have I cut down the heat I use and how often I dye my hair, only because my hair was all falling out and breaking.
PLEASE DON’T LET YOURSELF GET TO THAT POINT!  I used to use heat on my hair every day and dying it red every 2-3 weeks. I not only use heat for occasions I want to look nice and dying it every 6-8 weeks.
I hope my tips have helped you, I hope you have a fabulous rest of the week!

New Hair + Pandas!

Published August 10, 2013 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

So I thought id just do a quick update on my hair. I hadn’t dyed my hair for about 5 months before yesterday. After 2 years of constant dying every 6 weeks, my hair needed a break. So I was really trying to get it in the best condition possible.

In the last 2 months ive been debating if I should bleach my hair then dye it blonde (as my hair used o be light). But yesterday I made a snap decision to go red, then went to superdrug and bought 3 boxes of red hair dye. And yes, my hair is so long and thick it needs 3 boxes.

I used Garniers Olia hair dye in 6.60 Intense Red.

It was £5.99 per box at superdrug.

My Hair! ImageImage

It looks darker in photos, but in sunlight its like ‘EVERYBODY SHIELD YOUR EYES’ it goes so bright.

My hair doesnt feel that damaged, so I guess thats good. What do you think?

And here are my panda nails (I was in a nail art mood): Image

I think they’re pretty cute. Awww

Anyway, just a little update.
