Perplexing plum – Spring makeup tutorial

Published April 18, 2015 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

So today im going to do a plum, smokey daytime look, inspired by this elf baked eyeshadow i found in my eyeshadow drawer the other day. Its a really rich plum colour, however it always seems to blend into the most gorgeous smokey eye.

ps. Since last time i bleached streaks of my hair and put a pink dye in them (though it went red).

So lets get started!

1) Apply your base makeup (foundation, concealer, powder -> all that jazz) and define and fill in your eyebrows. I’ve recently been using 2 different colour eyebrow pencils to create more angular brows. SAM_7946

2) As the UK is actually getting hot weather (what is this sorcery?), I always make sure i double prime my eyes. By this I mean, using an eyeshadow primer, and then using a cream base on top so my eyeshadows really stick to my eyes and dont crease.

3) Next I apply a light champagne colour to the inner half of my top and bottom lashline. SAM_7950

4) Next I use a shimmery plum on the outer half of my lid and then I also apply it in the crease. SAM_7951

5) Then I apply a matte cream eyeshadow under my brows as a highlight. SAM_7955

6) Next i smudge a soft black shadow across my lashline. Ive been doing this alot recently, even though im going to apply eyeshadow, it makes the look more smokey and blended.SAM_7956

7) I apply black liquid liner across my top lashline, then a black gel eyeliner in my waterline.SAM_7961

8) Next I curl my lashes and apply mascara. SAM_7962

9) Next I apply some whorelicious false lashes. A couple of years ago I wouldn’t have even considered wearing the size lashes that I do now. #thuglife SAM_7963

10) Next I contour with a matte bronzer and shimmery highlighter. I apply the darker powder across my forehead, at my temples, under my cheekbones, down the sides of me nose and heavily under my chin (we gotta hide those triple chins).

I next apply a light pink blush to the apples of my cheek and blend it backwards. I do this so the cotour and blush blend together.

11) Then I applied a dark pink lipliner just outside of my natural lip line. I then fill the rest of lip in with a light pink lipstick. Using my finger i blend these together so it looks more like a gradient.

Thanks the finished look! SAM_7973SAM_7976SAM_7972

A copper christmas!- tutorial

Published December 22, 2013 by majormakeupmadness

Hey Guys,

So I was looking through my makeup collection today, and it brought to my attention that I have lots of products that dont get enough lovin. One of which was ‘Coppering’ eyeshadow from MAC. I bought it over a year ago and thought id use it today. Plus copper is good for green eyes so I was like YEP YEP YEP.

This will be my last post before christmas so MERRY CHRISTMAS, I LOVE YOU ALL! ❤

I also reached 250 followers this week aswell! *celebrates*

Ok as per usual, here the finished look first: Image

So lets start the tutorial:

1) FIrst prime your eyelids and apply a cream eyeshadow (if needed).Image

2) Next I apply a pearly white to the inner third of my eye. Make sure the shadow you use is pigments; we’re going for a strong, icy sort of look.

3) Now for the copper! Apply a copper shade to the outer third of your eyelid and lower lashline. Concentrate the colour near the middle of the lid though, it doesnt matter if its messy near the edges.Image

4) Apply a shimmery dark brown to the outer third of your lower and upper lashine. I make a slight sharp edge, to add drama to the look.

5) Next I apply a light taupe brown to my crease to help blend out the look and give that ‘smoldering’ effect.Image

6) I bet you cant bet what my eyeliners gonna be like? *sarcasm*

I apply a black cream liner to my top lashline and a gel black liner to my waterline.Image

7) Next for the mascara. I usually apply LOADS of mascara to my bottom lashes for a dramatic look. But today I just go simple with 1 coat of mascara. Au Naturale…Kinda.Image

8) Now for my favourite part… Lashes! My favourite T-mart lashes and black lash glue. Image

9) Next I contour, highlight and apply pink blush.Image

10) Next I apply a light pink lipstick to finish the look. Sh-bam. ImageImage

Thats the finished look! I hope ive inspired you to incorporate copper somewhere into your makeup one day.

Published January 11, 2013 by majormakeupmadness

Happy New Year!

Today im going to do a tutorial on a look Cheryl wore in her latest music video Ghetto Baby. I love the song and all the looks she was wearing throughout the video.

So heres my tutorial!

1) First I apply a champagne cream eyeshadow over my lid as a base. Image

2) I apply a shimmery brown shadow on the inner half of my lid and repeat on the lower lashline. Image

3) I then apply a dark grey on the out half of my lid and do the same with my lower lashline. Image

4) I then apply a warm, medium, matte brown in my crease. This softens the look. Image

5) I then apply a matte black on the outer corner of my eyes and blend gently across the lashline. Image

6) I then apply a black kohl pencil to my waterline. I also do a medium-thickness line on my top lashline. I stop when I get to the inner third of my eye. Image

7) I then apply mascara and a set of false lashes. I also apply a shimmery highlight in my inner corners and under my brow bone. Image

8) To finish off the look I contour with a dark matte bronzer. I apply a light peach blush to my cheeks.

For my lips: I line them with a nude lipline, then apply a light pink lipstick followed by a light pink gloss.

Smokey eyes which suit EVERYONE!

Published December 1, 2012 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

So today Im gonna show you a look which suits everyone. Its not the most dramatic smokey eye, but that’s how I like it best. Then it gives you the option to go for a brighter lip colour or a more neutral lip.  The eyeshadow palette im going to use is the NYX One Night in Morocco. I thought it would be easier to show you a picture of the shadows, so you know the exact shade im using. 010

1) First I apply the dark champagne colour (bottom right) all over my lid and into my crease. stopping just below the brow. 011

2) Next I apply the medium grey colour across my lid. I don’t put it near the inner corner of my eye. It is the top right colour in the palette. 012

3) I then blend the dark champagne colour and medium grey together. I smudge a dark grey into my lashline, and blend.  The grey I use is is on the bottom line of palette. 013

4) I then line my top and bottom lashline with a black kohl pencil .I use one from rimmel. It doesnt have to be neat. Then blend with a smudge brush to give a ‘Smokey ‘ look.017

5) I then apply a highlight under my brow (white from the palette) and a silver shadow in the inner corners (not from palette). 020

6) Lastly Mascara! I use Maybelline falsies! 021

Thats the finished look! This look suit pretty much every eye shape and colour. It also suits all ages as the shadows are matte.

Almond eyes and standard eye shapes can pretty much get away with anything. But for some  eye shapes like a hooded eye, you cant put anything really dark in the crease. So we use the darkest colours at the lashline.

The eyeshadow doesnt focus too much on the outer corner or inner corner either so people with Wide set eyes or Close set eyes can wear it too!

I matched the look with Plum colours.

I use sleek blush in Pomegranate and mac lipstick in plumful.

Here’s me wearing it. The first photo is with flash, the rest are without: 034

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading!

Have a faboosh weekend!

How much is YOUR face worth?

Published November 4, 2012 by majormakeupmadness

Happy November!

How have you all been?

So Elf had a competition about 2 weeks ago, were you would send a picture of yourself wearing your everyday makeup and the makeup you used. Elf would then match elf products as alternatives to try and save people money.

My face was ‘worth’ £157.82 according to Elf.  Wait, WHAT? Who knew makeup could be that expensive when you total everything up!?!?!

I was lucky enough to win!!!!! HURREY!

As Elf is one of my favourite bands so I was over the moon!

Heres the official blog post:

Here are the photos I sent in and the makeup I used: ImageImage

Products used:
Laura Mercier Silk creme foundation – Cream Ivory £33
Ma mineralize Skinfinish Natural – Light plus £21

Maybelline Falsies mascara £7.99

I also made an order. I ordered 4 of the new baked eyeshadows (enchanted, pixie, toasted and burnt plum) , a studio blush (tickled pink) , a studio glossy gloss (sweet salmon), a waterproof eyeliner pen (black) as well as a Halloween ‘mystery bag’ which is worth £10! How to get long, luscious lashes without false ones!

Published September 9, 2012 by majormakeupmadness

Hey guys,

So today Im going to do a post on my favourite ways to get long, thick lashes, without applying false ones.

1) Start with no eye makeup.

2) I then take maybellines gel eyeliner in Black and line my upper waterline. To create the illusion of thick lashes, you need to work on the look of a even lash line to make the base of your lashes look thicker.

3) I then apply 1 or 2 swipes of waterproof mascara, im using maybellines great lash waterproof. I do this because before curling my lashes because waterproof mascara holds it’s shape better, so when I curl my lashes the curl will last longer than curling lashes with no product on them.

4) I then curl my lashes with my elf lash curler, and apply a lengthening mascara. Im using Mac’s zoom lash.

5) I then apply a volumising mascara. Here’s where you will see the main difference. I use maybellines colossal volume mascara. Maybellline make the best drugstore mascaras in my opinion! Heres the finished look.

Theres the finished eyes. I hope you enjoyed my tips and tricks.
