This is going to be a post that shows an alternative to mac’s famous tendertones! – not just because of the price, also because the mac tendertones are limited edition and I found a similar colour/ formula to the mac tendertone in Hush Hush.
The competitor of the mac tendertone is a body shop lipbalm (born lippy in orange)- which was featured in my last haul. The body shop lipbalm is not an exact dupe of the mac one, as the body shop one is more orange and shimmery. But they are both very warm, bronzy colours which are similar in formulas . The both have a lipbalm/lipgloss feel. They are not sticky but they feel slightly heavier than a normal lip balm. The colour is very sheer but I think they were designed to be sheer. The packaging is obviously better on the mac one, as its glass and the other one is plastic. The thing I find amazing is the body shop lip balm is not marketed as a tinted lip balm but it still gives the same amount of colour as the mac one.Left swatch: Body shop Right swatch: Mac
Price difference: Mac tendertone =£11
Body Shop L/B =£2
There is a dramatic difference. The body shop lipbalm is 5 and a half times cheaper than the mac one. They are both great products, don’t get me wrong but the body shop ones seem better value, like your getting more for your money. It really doesn’t matter that one is ‘mac name brand’ because im just going to give my honest opinion. Like I said as mac tendertones are limited edition these lip balms may be a great alternative if you haven’t stocked up or got the chance to get mac tendertones.
